Who is Telva?
Meet Telva Chase, founder of Telva's Toolbox
Telva Chase is a surface pattern designer and entrepreneurial instructor/author who helps surface pattern designers to create marketable designs so that they can have a sustainable income from their art.
She studied oil painting as a child artist at the (San Francisco) Bay Area Figurative Movement in the late 1960s-early 1970s. She has worked as an artist for nearly 50 years. She became a Color Me Beautiful consultant in England in the early 1980s and a makeup artist/colorist for Vidal Sassoon and cable TV in the later 1980s (HBO, Showtime, Retro Network). She taught color theory at various art schools in England (Leeds Polytechnic where she received the diploma in Art and Design (DipAD), Liverpool Polytechnic, Winchester School of Art, and the University of Creative Arts.)
She currently resides in Vancouver, WA with her husband where she enjoys painting (all mediums: oil, pastel, acrylic, encaustic, watercolor, colored pencil, et al), sewing, gardening, writing and designing surface patterns. But most of all, she loves educating others about this exciting craft!
